Booking Fantasmic Dining VIP, and can't figure out time to make dinner reservation based on fireworks/show start time. It says the show begins right now at 8:00...will that be the same for April or will it shift to 9:00 based on spring daylight?

    Hi Keith!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I will begin by saying that I love Fantasmic! and have seen this amazing show many times, and I always make reservations for the Fantasmic! Dining Package, which makes sense as we would always be planning to eat at Disney's Hollywood Studios before the show anyway.  You will be given a voucher when you arrive at your restaurant which will guarantee your seating in a reserved area without having to arrive at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater 90 minutes prior to showtime - with the Dining Package you only need to arrive 25 minutes earlier (although I would recommend you are seated 30-40 minutes before showtime).  I have looked at the calendar for the week following your arrival date in April, and showtime is listed as 8.30pm.  You may book your dining reservation for the package at any of the available times, as they will not overlap with the show, and you have the choice of three different restaurants: The Hollywood Brown Derby,  Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano and Hollywood & Vine.  At Hollywood & Vine you can even book breakfast with this package. In that case you would simply enjoy your day before returning later for your viewing of Fantasmic!, in the knowledge that your seats are already reserved.  When making your dining reservation, please ensure that you are making your booking through the Fantasmic! Dining Package, and not through regular dining reservations.

You can see the location of Fantasmic! on this Guide Map for Disney's Hollywood Studios - it is located in the bottom right corner of the map (55), near to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at the end of Sunset Boulevard - just follow the screams!
