    I am booking a Disney hotel and Dining Plan. Can you advise what is an example of a counter service meal (pizza/burger/pasta/fries), can you use if for breakfast (what could it purchase)? I have a 17 year old son and want to make sure he will be Ok. thanks

    Hi, Robert! With so many dining options available throughout the parks, resorts and Downtown Disney, WDW is a virtual smorgasbord of culinary opportunities...including all the counter service/quick service restaurants.  Of course, as you mentioned and as you would expect, there are plenty of typical American-fare quick options such as hot dogs, burgers, fries and pizza. However, there are many other healthier and even vegetarian options at most quick service restaurants, too.  Many restaurants also have a variety of food offerings representing many different cuisines -- pastas, salads, seafood, sandwiches, soups, etc.  In addition, at Epcot's World Showcase, there is a quick service restaurant at each of the 11 countries' pavilions which represents that country's specific cuisine. So, you see...there are all types of foods that can satisfy the pickiest of eaters as well as those with more adventuresome palates.

    For breakfast, the quick service options can most readily be found in the Disney resorts, and a few quick service breakfast choices are available at select restaurants in the parks. The items vary from breakfast sandwiches and platters (with eggs, meats and bread) to pastries, fruit and yogurt. Our family often uses our quick service credits on the dining plan to have breakfast at the resort where we're staying.

    My 15-year-old son loves the variety (and quantity) of WDW quick-service meals and occasionally will use his quick service credits on his own with a friend or a brother as the rest of the family is enjoying a character meal with the little ones.
