Hi, Krystal, thank you for visiting us at planDisney with your question! My family and I just recently visited
Walt Disney World and enjoyed a round of miniature golf right around the corner from
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at
Winter Summerland. My wife and son both beat me with some miracle hole-in-one shots on the back nine, but that’s beside the point!
Having not stayed at Coronado Springs before, I had to do some research, and I think I discovered what you are describing. When looking at the
Room Rates section of the site, Disney has a “Featured Room” at the very top. Currently, the featured room is a King Bed with a Water View in the Tower. If you scroll to the next section of Rooms and Suites, you will see that the options for those rooms are standard view, water view, 1 bedroom suite, preferred room, etc. but nothing is listed as Tower. If you continue scrolling, the following sections are labeled Gran Destino Tower – Rooms and Suites or Gran Destino Tower – Club Access Rooms and Suites. All these options have Tower listed before the view option. So, it appears the featured room at the moment is a room that was pulled from the Gran Destino Tower section to the top of the page for marketing purposes. The Gran Destino Tower is the only portion of the resort that has Tower rooms, all other rooms will be located throughout the property on the banks of Lago Dorado.
I am planning another visit for later this year, and after researching Coronado Springs for you, I think I may be checking this resort off my bucket list.
Three Bridges Bar & Grill and
Rix Sports Bar & Grill look like great dining spots, and my kids will love the
Lost City of Cibola Pool!
I hope this answers your question, Krystal. Please come back to planDisney and ask me a question directly, if you need any more information or planning tips!
