Hi Carrie,
If you click on "I want to use my dining plan to book reservations" when making your advance dining reservation, you will not be charged. Your credit card details will be taken as a guarantee only.
One of the main advantages of the Disney Dining Plan is that reservations that would otherwise require pre-payment will not require pre-payment for Guests wishing to use their Dining Plan.
Guest Policy states that at time of booking, payment in full must be charged to a valid credit card or, if on a dining package, there must be a guarantee to a valid credit card. If you fail to show for this priority seating and do not cancel your reservation, your card will be charged a penalty. There is a one-day cancellation policy and a full price charge if you cancel within one (1) day of the reservation or are a "no show" for the reservation.
If for any reason your credit card has been charged, when you arrive at
Mickey's Backyard BBQ for the Dinner Show, simply explain to your server that you prepaid for your meal on your credit card when making your dining reservation but would like to use your Dining Plan credits instead.
They will deduct two table-service meal credits from your Dining Plan for each Guest in your party (Aged 3 and over) and will refund your credit card there and then. (You will however need to take the exact credit card that was used at the time of booking)
Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
