When booking an ADR that requires a credit card to hold the reservation, is the card actually charged? We're planning to have the DDP, I'd rather use that and not the credit card. Can you help me clear this up. Love the panel...it's a daily read for me.

    Hi Amy!

I am so glad that you love the panel - I also read it everyday!  Unfortunately, I think that you may be a little disappointed with the answer to your question.  At extremely popular meals, such as Cinderella's Royal Table and the Hoop De Doo Revue, full payment is required with a debit/credit card in order to make the reservation.  Once you are at the restaurant, simply let them know that you will be using the dining plan and they will refund your credit card at once.  Of course, you may also choose to pay for the meal with cash, a Disney gift card or other form of payment.  I would ask for the credit card receipt, just in case the refund does not show up promptly.

I realize that this process sounds a little less than magical, but it has helped to alleviate a lot of the "no shows."  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you are able to book all of your favorite restaurants - have a fabulous trip!
