I booked a woods view room for 2 adults (2 queen beds) at Port Orleans Riverside assuming it was in Alligator Bayou. I thought the “mansions” were more expensive rooms. Do I need to request Alligator Bayou to get a room there?

Well, hey there, Shelley! Welcome back to planDisney. Seeing you here with another great planning question is the bees' knees!

I'm so happy to see that the magic of Walt Disney World Resort is calling, and you are answering the call by planning a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. And since you're staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, it sounds like your planning is off to a practically perfect start. With its beautiful rooms, charming, Southern vibes and fantastic dining options, this Resort is the perfect, peaceful home away from home right in the middle of the magic. Now, let's dig a little deeper and find out more about your room's location.

As far as I can tell, all of the Woods View rooms with two Queen beds at Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are located in the Magnolia Bend section, where the buildings look like stately Southern mansions. So, unfortunately, with this type of room booked, your room will be located in the Magnolia Bend section of the Resort.

If you'd like to stay in the Alligator Bayou section of the Resort, I recommend switching your room reservation to a Woods View Room with a 5th Sleeper, a Standard View Room with a 5th Sleeper, or a Preferred Room, if possible. There are also Pool View and River View Rooms in both Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. So, if you book one of these room types, I recommend calling a Cast Member with Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to add your request for a room in Alligator Bayou. Just keep in mind that while the Cast Members will do everything they can to make magic for you, room requests are based on availability and not guaranteed.
