Hey, Page!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let your wild side loose...literally. I loved this adventure and there is not a day that goes by that my 9-year-old son doesn't talk about it. He even wrote a school paper about his experience.
I don't want to spoil any surprises because Africa becomes alive right before your eyes during the
Wild Africa Trek. The sounds, smells and tastes are unforgettable.
You will not need a canteen. They will give you one (to keep) and you will have plenty of water on your journey across the savannah. As long as a camera or smartphone can be secured to the equipment it is allowed. If your daughter wants to use a GoPro, then ask a Cast Members about the best way to keep it and the animals safe. You surely don't want it becoming the property of a hippopotamus. There is a professional Disney PhotoPass photographer with you the entire time catching those magical moments like the crocodile battle we witnessed. It. Was. Amazing.
Disney Dad Tip: Ask questions, lots of questions about the legends and habits of these amazing animals. If you want a picture, ask for it. We had a tower of giraffe walk right by us for some spectacular photos. Be sure to arrive early to get harnessed. Eat all the food because it is unique to this experience.
Page, enjoy making many Magical Memories on your Wild Africa Trek.
