We have booked a week at POFQ in May. Last time we were at Disney was in 1996 for our honeymoon. It will be our DD's first time (ages 8 and 6). I know hubby and I would like POFQ but am wondering if POR might be better for the girls? Need help deciding

Hi, Jennifer,    Congratulations on twelve years of marriage!  You are going to see a lot of exciting changes at Disney since your last visit in 1996.

Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside are located next to each other.  It is a nice walk between the 2 resorts.  My family likes to take this walk in the evenings.  We have stayed at both resorts, and enjoyed both so much!  Both resorts have a boat shuttle to Downtown Disney which is a fun ride and very convenient.

While you can't go wrong with either resort, I recommend you stick with your reservation at POFQ.  My kids love the themeing and the pool.  Also, compared to Riverside, the French Quarter is not so spread out, so there is a lot less walking.  After walking around the parks for a week, I think you'll enjoy the convenience of getting around POFQ.

I hope your princesses enjoy their vacation.  Make sure they stop by guest services to receive their "First Visit" button!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
