Hi there Amanda, I'd like to wish you a very warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
Whenever fellow Canucks venture down south for their sunny Floridian vacations, it can sometimes be a bit of a puzzle to figure out how to make adjustments to their plans so I'm glad that you're doing your research in advance! It's great to hear that you've already got your room booked at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for the week, so I had a chat with one of the Cast Members about modifying your tickets during your stay and here's what they had to share:
- The Cast Member let me know that depending on the circumstances of how you purchased your Theme Park tickets - whether you booked with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner / Travel Agent, took advantage of a Canadian-specific offer or purchased your tickets either directly or via a third-party website - there may be certain conditions that apply that determine whether you can modify your tickets. Walt Disney World Resort guests generally find that their tickets are both nonrefundable and also cannot be transferred once they are used.
- They did however offer a glimmer of hope in that when you head online and log into My Disney Experience and navigate to your tickets under My Plans, you may find an option to possibly change dates or reassign tickets if that's something you want to consider doing instead. They did reiterate however that at the current time, while it's always easier to add tickets to an existing stay, reducing or refunding one isn't an option.
I think it's always worth calling Guest Relations directly to see what options you might have available to your specific situation, especially if they can look up the details of your reservation. My friends and family recently had plans to visit to celebrate
The Walt Disney Company's 100th Anniversary but could not stay for as long as they'd hoped, so instead they were able to move those tickets to a later visit and purchase new ones just for their reduced time with the help of a friendly Cast Member who pointed them toward a new
4-Day 4-Park, Magic Ticket available for a limited time this summer.
You might want to keep an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog for some exciting new additions and announcements as they come this year, especially with the long-awaited arrivals to Magic Kingdom Park in the upcoming months! I really hope that they're able to help you out with finding a solution that works best for you; you're always welcome to
come back to planDisney for more first-hand experience, tips and tricks ahead of your next Disney adventure.
Wishing you all the best on your summertime quest!
