Hi Jessica! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
You and your traveling party must be so excited about your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort later this year! Spending two weeks at the
Most Magical Place on Earth sounds like a dream come true to me. With all of the recent additions and new experiences on the way, you will have plenty to keep you busy during that time. You'll also be arriving during the Halloween season, so keep a lookout for the festive decorations and special events that should be occurring during your visit.
With the addition of
Disney Genie+ late last year, you now have the option to make your park days a bit more relaxing. This service gives you a chance to bypass the standby queue on select attractions and maximize the time you get to spend in the parks. My favorite part about it is it allowed my family to catch more of the experiences going on in the parks that we would not have seen if we were waiting in lines throughout the day. We were able to catch more cavalcades at the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios!
Jessica, to add on Disney Genie+ before you arrive, you'll need to log on to your
My Disney Experience account to try and make this addition. Once logged in, scroll down to "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" and click on "Tickets & Memory Maker". Your tickets will be shown here and there should be a "Change Ticket" option to select to add Disney Genie+ to your existing tickets. If for some reason you do not see this as an option, I would suggest
calling the Walt Disney Travel Company and speaking to a Cast Member for assistance. They will be happy to assist you with this request.
Since you will be visiting during the Halloween season, I would suggest keeping an EAR out for any announcements about a return of a Halloween evening event. For many years, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was a staple! Between the stage shows, fireworks, and a nighttime parade, it was a spectacular event. Last year Walt Disney World introduced Disney After Hours Boo Bash, which was a modified version of the larger party. Regardless, each was was a ton of fun in its own right and definitely worth a visit if you can fit it into your schedule. Keep checking the
Disney Parks Blog for any updates!
Jessica, I hope you have an amazing two-week holiday during your upcoming visit! Have a magical time!
See ya real soon!
