Just booked our 1st vacation to WDW! My son will be turning 5 right before our trip & it will be his & my first time at a Disney park. Overwhelmed by the options for dining and character experiences. For the 5 yr old boy which would you recommend?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Amanda ~

A first trip to Walt Disney World is always amazing and I'm super excited for you and your family! Be sure to pick up "1st Visit" buttons at your Walt Disney Resort hotel or any theme park Guest Relations location. They are free, make great souvenEARs, and you never know what pixie dust will come your way when you are wearing them.

I have two boys and we are always looking for adventure! A character meal is always a must do for my family. My boys' top recommendations for character dining locations are:
    * Chef Mickey's where you can meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy.
    * The Crystal Palace that features Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet.
    * The Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch at 'Ohana where you can meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto.
    * Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness

While it isn't a character dining location, take your son to Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and share a Kitchen Sink. My boys think this is the most fun dessert ever.

Advanced Dining Reservations for all Table Service locations are highly recommended and can be made beginning 180 days prior to your trip through the link shown above or by calling 407-WDW-DINE. The most popular locations book up fast so make your reservations early.

I would also recommend the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. This is great fun for the whole family. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to book your voyage.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. It is indeed our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
