Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    Booked a vacation for 9/2011, staying at FW Cab. Have 4 children ages 9y-1y and my mother with us. Rented a golf cart for travel. We have previously stayed at CB in two rooms and had a great time. How do these compare, which would you recommend? THANKS

    Hi, Jessica! Congratulations on your trip to Walt Disney World! You're going at a great time of year in order to enjoy low crowd levels yet still warm enough to swim and visit the waterparks. If I understand your traveling party correctly, you have two adults (you and your mother) and four children -- which will be perfect for a Cabin at Fort Wilderness.  We have stayed there with six family members before, yet we felt a little cramped with two adults, two teens and two children.

    In a Cabin, you'll enjoy having a bedroom (one double bed and a set of bunkbeds), one bathroom and a kitchen with an eat-in area and a living room (Murphy bed and sofa). Of course, in comparison to Caribbean Beach, you're essentially giving up one bed and one bathroom, but you're gaining a kitchen and living area.  Plus, at the Cabins, you have a great outdoor deck with a grill and lots of space to run around outside. I do recommend the golf cart since it can be a haul from one end of the Fort to another.

    For us, we love Fort Wilderness because of all the entertainment, recreation and dining options the resort has to offer. You'll have to check out the pony rides, the carriage or wagon rides, Chip n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-longs, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Plus, we always love watching the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach. Remember that the Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary resorts are close by, and the Magic Kingdom is only a boat ride away.
