Hi there, Andrea!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for your last-minute trip to Walt Disney World Resort! As much of the planner that I am, I actually really love the last-minute trips to the theme parks! When we do that, we simply throw expectations out the window and always end up having a great time and come back home with so many fun memories!
We love going to a character dining experience, but often an Advanced Dining Reservation is tricky to get, especially when planning a last-minute stay. But, from my experience – YES!! People most definitely have a change of plans and more often than not we have been able to secure a character dining experience during our visit. Most dining reservations require a 24-hour notice for cancellation, so when I am looking for one, I feel like I am constantly checking on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App for those character experiences. And when I see one, I grab it because if I don’t do it immediately it likely won’t be there later. In addition to character breakfast experiences, there are also opportunities for character dining during lunch or dinner. My family loves dining at
Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so you may want to keep a later in the day option in mind!
If you are unable to secure an Advanced Dining Reservation during your stay, please take advantage of the many opportunities to meet those beloved characters throughout the theme parks! My children find just as much magic in seeing the characters then as they do during a dining experience.
Sending all the pixie dust your way for a magical and memorable vacation!
