Hey howdy hey Sarah and welcome to planDisney!
So sorry to hear that one of your party members will no longer be able to travel with you, but let's dig in a see what we can do. Your options at this point are based on what you have booked with Disney. If you booked a package or if you booked theme park tickets only, things will be a little different, so let's look at both scenarios.
If you are cancelling a package for only one member of your party, the easiest way to do this will be to call Disney directly at (407) 934-7639 and give them your situation. Based on the
terms and conditions of vacation packages, you can cancel without penalty if doing so more than 30 days prior to your arrival date. If you do so between two to 29 days prior to your arrival date, there is a cancellation fee of $200.00 and anything less than two days you will not receive any refund for. Timing is key when you talk to a Cast Member as your travel date is fast approaching!
With regards to Theme Park only tickets, this process is a little different.
Based on the terms and conditions of ticket only purchase, these are nonrefundable. You do have the option of modifying the dates to use the tickets at a later date then what you originally bought them for. If you do pick a date that have the tickets priced higher than the value of yours, you would only be charged the difference. If the tickets have not been used, you can either reassign or modify the dates online. In your
My Disney Experience account under "My Plans" you should see your party listed there. Click on the ticket icon and you should be given an option to reassign the ticket as well as modify the date. Follow the prompts and you are all set. Keep in mind there is an expiration date with all tickets. If you are wanting to modify this date outside of the expiration date, give a quick call to
Guest Services at (407) 934-7639 and have a Cast Member help you through this process.
Good luck with your continued planning, I hope you and your party have a Magical trip to Walt Disney World Resort. I also hope that you find some time to check out
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts while you are there. So many cool art pieces, projects and food to be eaten, it is a fantastic way to celebrate your day in EPCOT. If you have any further questions let us know, we love talking all things Disney here at planDisney!
Safe Travels,
Nick
