I have booked a vacation at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and am beginning to worry about the transportation aspect of staying there. How long does it take to get the Magic Kingdom area by Bus?

    Hi Michelle,

I just returned from a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and it took us between 20 and 35 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom including wait time for the bus.  You may be able to drive to the ticket and transportation center in 20 minutes in a rented car, but you will still need to take a boat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom entrance.  The resort bus, on the other hand, will take you directly to the entrance of the park.

I have stayed at almost every resort in WDW.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my all time favorites and we have not found the bus service to be overly frustrating.  Many of the other resorts have buses that must loop around the resort before getting to a particular stop.  At the Animal Kingdom Lodge there are only two stops, the Kidani Village and the Jambo House.  When leaving to go to a theme park the Jambo House is the last stop.  When you return home you will have to stop at the Kidani Village first before getting back to the Jambo House.

I hope you enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge as much as I just did.

    All the best - Michelle
