I booked a two night MYW package before my 7 night stay with FD. If I am dining at LeCellier for dinner on my checkout day, would getting the dining plan be beneficial? I think paying OOP for this meal plus a few QS & snacks would be about the $ of the

You are definitely on the right track! The best way to estimate the 'value' of the dining plan is to look at the menu where you plan to dine and do a cost estimate. I use the [awesome] website Allears.net to do this - just click on the Walt Disney World tab, then dining, then menus.

Please note that at dinner, Le Cellier requires two dining plan credits.

Appetizers range from $9-16, entrees $25-$43, and desserts $7-11. There are also several yummy sides ranging from $7-10. As you can see, a meal here can add up very quickly! My own meal of choice there is $60, before adding in tax and gratuity - well above the one-day cost of the dining plan, which is in the $51 range. And of course the basic dining plan will also entitle you to two quick service meals, two snacks, and a refillable mug.

Counter service meals generally run between $7-15, and snacks are in the $2-4 range. Refillable mugs cost around $15. Keep in mind that again, none of those prices include tax. They also don't take into consideration that dessert (around $4) and drink (around $3) are included in the meals as well.

Based on the above, if I ate the cheapest meals and snacks I might possibly come out slightly better by paying out of pocket. But most likely, I could save a few dollars by purchasing the dining plan - and then I wouldn't feel obligated to choose only the cheapest meals.

    Hope that helps!
