Hi Ana:
Congratulations on your first Disney World trip. You should really enjoy Port Orleans French Quarter. Your question got cut off and I'm not sure of your son's interests, but here are some ideas of places to eat and attractions to see, which can hopefully help your planning.
You son may consider himself too old for character dining, but he may appreciate the fun or interesting atmosphere at the following restaurants:
- Biergarten in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot. As you eat an all-you-can consume German-style buffet (along with some American favorites), you will be entertained by costumed musicians playing traditional German music.
- 50's Prime Time Café, American comfort food and fun service in a period setting,
- Whispering Canyon Café, an Old West themed family-style restaurant.
- Raglan Road, a modern twist on traditional Irish pub food,
- T-REX Café, a dinosaur-themed family restaurant with a large menu.
- 'Ohana (for dinner), a Polynesian family-style restaurant, and
- Coral Reef, a wonderful and fun experience for kids (and adults) where you can dine in front of stunning underwater views.
- Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a fun-filled Wild West dinner show
Among others, make sure you check out Star Tours, Soarin, Test Track, Space Mountain, Toy Story Mania, and Soarin. You'll probably be disappointed with this version of Pirates of the Caribbean since its shorter.
I would also consider the entertainment options at Downtown Disney, (each with admission fees), which include a movie theatre, DisneyQuest interactive arcade, and Characters in Flight (a ride in a basketed tethered balloon that takes you 400-feet above Downtown Disney for 360-degree spectacular views as far as the eye can see).
