I've booked our 1st trip to WDW for 9/30-10/9. My DD will have just turned 3 and 6. I have planned our itinerary. We are staying at CBR and concerned bout travel time to and from parks for naps. How to you handle naps and still get to see the parades? Thx

First, thank you so much for your question.  I am very excited to hear about your 1st ever Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  September really does seem so far off, but it will be knocking on your door in no time.  I can imagine the anticipation!

When my boys were this age, the key for my husband and I were EARLY mornings.  We would get to the parks prior to opening.  This way, we were able to catch many of the popular attractions prior to the crowds arriving.  The kids were well rested, too.  By 1:00 o'clock, we would head back to our Disney Resort for a nap.  It was very tempting to leave the television on or get caught up looking at all the amazing sights the Disney Resort had to offer, but we made it a point to go straight to our room and straight to bed.  We would nap for about 3 hours. Trust me, you will be this tired!  We were always heading back to one of the Disney Theme Parks no later than 5:00 p.m.  We would find a place to dine for about an hour.   Our boys were well rested and their stomachs were full.  This made the evening so much more enjoyable than having cranky kids in tow.  They were ready for the evening parades!  Oh, by the way, if you will be utilizing the Disney buses, you will be looking at approximately 30 minutes for travel time to and from your resort.  This includes waiting for the bus, which run approximately every 20 minutes, and 10 minutes for the ride to your resort.  The funny thing is that we still follow this schedule and I have teenagers!

Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel.  Please join us again should any new questions or concerns pop-up.  We are always ready to help plan the vacation of a lifetime.
