I just booked our trip to WD for 4/25-4/30. we are staying at the AKL,got a savannah view room and my question to you is if we want a good close view of the animals should i request a certen room for that experiance if that is possable?

    Hello, Megan!

We've stayed several times at both Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge-Jambo House and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge-Kidani Village; we love them both!

Regarding your savannah view, I don't think that a particular room will matter.  The various animals seem to gravitate to certain areas at different times of the day.  One night, at check-in, there were multiple giraffes right outside our balcony.  In the morning, zebras were just to the left of us.  That afternoon, cranes were  just off to our right.  The Cast Members who take care of the animals deliver specific food items to them in strategic locations on the savannah, too, so you'll see activity based on a number of conditions.

One thing that we forgot, however, was my son's night vision binoculars.  If you have a set of these, you might enjoy peeking at the animals as they settle down for the night, some of which might do so right beneath your balcony!

Get your camera ready for a ton of great photo ops on this upcoming trip!  You're in for a fantastic experience at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge!
