We booked a trip for September and should arrive at the Grand Californian around 8am. Is there any wiggle-room for getting a room sooner than 3pm? We are traveling with an infant and toddler, and want to be able to take a nap around noon on our first day.

    Hi Taryn, welcome to planDisney!

My family and I absolutely LOVE Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! It's our favorite place to stay when we visit the Disneyland Resort! My wife and I have two little kiddos, so I completely understand the importance of nap time. I recommend you use the online check-in feature through your Disneyland Resort account. You should be able to note in their your expected arrival time. Then when you arrive at the hotel, head to the front desk in the lobby and let them know you have arrived. Explain your situation to the Cast Members, letting them know you have two little ones with a noon nap time, and hopefully they can speed up your room preparation process. In the meantime, as you wait for your room, you can leave your luggage with Bell Services, and either explore the hotel and all its offerings or head on over to the Downtown Disney District!

I actually recommend taking advantage of the amazing pool area at the hotel and dine at GCH Craftsman Bar for lunch! It's right next to the pool area, so you can order food and dine while swimming! Later on, if you get a chance, I highly recommend dining at Storytellers Cafe. We love both the breakfast buffet and brunch buffer, as Mickey and his Pals will pay a visit! But just so you know, dinner at Storytellers Cafe is not a character experience, which is why we typically aim for breakfast or brunch!

I'm truly excited for you, you're going to have the best time! If you have any other questions, please visit us again!

    See ya real soon!
