Welcome to planDisney, Mary!
Ooh, multi-generation trips to
Walt Disney World are my favorite. So exciting for your family!
I am the vacation planner for our family, too, so I know how important it is for everyone to be able to see all of the fun we have packed into our days together. Once connected correctly, touring is a breeze for one and all!
Regarding your
Disney Resort Hotel reservation, the first thing I'd check is to be sure your mother has accepted your invitation to plan together through
My Disney Experience. If she has, then see if you've added your mother on the hotel reservation using the exact name that she uses for her
Disney Account. One way to check on this is to see if the character icon your mother has chosen for herself in her account is the one that appears in your plans. At times, my reservation has included a duplicate version of someone in my party, and my first clue that this happened is seeing a blue Mickey icon instead of the character that person has chosen. I'll modify that by removing the duplicate in the reservation, then adding them back using their correct account identity.
If you are not able to modify this yourself, a Cast Member at
Walt Disney World's Help Center will be able to take care of this for you easily. They've always been able to straighten out any little blips that have happened in all of my WDW plans, so I know they'll do the same for you.
Once connected correctly, you'll all be able to see everyone's plans--even those that do not include you. For example, if your mother and daughter opt for a special grandmother-granddaughter experience while you and your husband head to a nice dinner and date night, you'll all be able to see those plans in your
My Disney Experience account under the My Plans and Tickets tab. You'll also see everyone's plans in your
My Disney Experience app.
To capture all of the multi-generational magic you are about to experience, Mary, don't forget to consider adding
Memory Maker to your visit. This service is the perfect way to ensure that everyone gets in the pictures because
Disney PhotoPass Service photographers take them! Some of my favorite family photos captured three generations touring WDW together--thanks to the pros who know just the right angle...and have a little pixie dust in their pockets that enable Magic Shots, too.
Mary, as you plan your practically perfect in every way days in The Most Magical Place on Earth, be sure to send us additional questions. We love to help!
