We just booked a trip in May for my daughters 6th birthday. It's our firt time @ DW, and I am super excited! I have been trying to come up with a cute, fun way to tell my daughter (who has been begging us to go). I want to make a big deal - any ideas?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Kerstin!

I am super excited for you & the possibilities are endless! Here are some ideas:

    * If you're good with some sort of photo editing program, edit her in a picture of Cinderella Castle with a note that when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true along with the date of your trip.

    * Wrap a box filled with things for your trip (Disney autograph books, t-shirts, etc.). At the bottom, put a note that she'll need those things for her trip to Disney World. You can purchase official Disney Theme Park Merchandise at www.DisneyStore.com.

    * Get a recordable picture frame & put a picture of her favorite Disney Princess in it with a recorded message from the Princess that she can't wait to meet her in person. A recordable greeting card would work too.

    * Keep it a secret until you leave for your trip. Tell her you're going to the airport to pick up someone & when you get there, hold up a sign saying "You're Going to Disney World".

    * Have a surprise dinner at home complete with all the Disney plates, napkins & decorations. When she asks what's going on, tell her its a "warm up" dinner for her trip to Disney World. You go also do this as a surprise "send off" dinner the night before your trip.

    * Tell her you're working on a special project & you need her help. Pull out a Disney Photo Album. When she opens it, have a note inside saying "Reserved for pictures from our 1st Trip to Disney World to Celebrate your 6th Birthday".

No matter how you decide to tell your daughter, be sure to have your video camera ready. A first trip to Disney World is extra magical! Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We hEAR to help! Wishing your daughter minnie magical birthday memories :-)  Allison V.
