Hey there Stacey, thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Park hopping is my favorite way to spend a day at Walt Disney World and I am so glad it's back! Each day you visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks you currently only need a
park pass reservation for the initial park you plan to visit each day which is why you aren't seeing an option to add more than one park pass reservation to each day. Park hopping does look a little bit different than it did before the shutdown last summer.
Here's how it is currently working:
- Guests wanting to park hop must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wanting to park hop need to make a park pass reservation for the initial park they plan to visit each day
- Guests must scan in and visit the theme park with the park pass reservation first each day to activate the park hopper feature
- Park hopping hours are currently from 2:00 p.m. each day and last until each park closes
- Guests, currently, do not need to make multiple park pass reservations each day for park hopping
- Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time
So basically when planning your vacation you'll need to make your park pass reservation for the Walt Disney World Theme Park you know you are going to want to visit first each day. You can enter that park at any time during the day but you will need to go to that one before hopping to any other parks. You can also leave that first park at any time during the day but you won't be able to enter another theme park until 2:00 p.m. To make park hopping a little bit easier on Guests, right now complimentary park-to-park
bus transportation is being provided. When you are ready to park hop (and it's around 2:00 p.m.) you'll head out of the Walt Disney World Theme Park you are currently at and venture over to the bus stop area. You'll look for the bus stop marked for the next park you'd like to visit. There will be a Cast Member working that area that will want to confirm that you do, indeed, have the park hopper option on your ticket. This is just a quick scan of your MagicBand or ticket card and then you'll be able to board the bus and whisked off to your next destination. I've been park hopping since its return, almost 3 full months now, and the process seems like a lot but it's very seamless and I haven't experienced any problems with not being able to park hop because of capacity limitations.
My perfect Disney day starts off in the early morning hours at Magic Kingdom Park getting to experience some of my most favorite attractions with little to no wait time. Then, when the parks start to fill up around lunchtime, I tend to head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at for some pool time. After I've had my fill of fun in the Florida sun, I like to clean up and head to Epcot for snacks and drinks around The World Showcase in the evenings. It's a great way to spend a day at Walt Disney World and I am really excited that you'll get to experience park hopping too.
If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help. Have fun!
