Hello Jacqueline! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disney's Pop Century Resort is on of my favorite places to stay at Walt Disney World Resort. The combination of
eclectic far at Everything Pop Shopping and Dining, the dedicated bus routes and incredible value are just a few of the ways Disney's Pop Century Resort mixes equal parts nostalgia and Disney to create Endless Magic.
I am guessing that the friendly confines you seek in a pool are more quiet and less crowded than the boisterous, party atmosphere of the Hippy Dippy Pool. If that is the case, both the 1950s Bowling Pin Pool and 1990s Computer pool suit those needs nicely. Having stayed in both sections, I have found the 1990s to be less busy and quieter than the Hippy Dippy Pool. However, the 1950s Bowling Pin pool was also very quiet, seldom busy and carries the added advantage of being in the 1950s section which is much closer to the main building, the bus depot and the bridge to
Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
The 1990s section of Disney's Pop Century is usually very quiet, but is farther away from the main points of interest. If you don't mind the walk and a quiet retreat is what you seek, then (and only in that case) would I recommend the 1990s section over the 1950s section.
While staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort, I recommend that you venture across the bride spanning Hourglass Lake and visit
Landscape of Flavors in the Main Hall of Disney's Art of Animation Resort for at least 1 meal during your vacation, as it is wonderful.
Have a Groovy Vacation!
