    We just booked a trip for February2017. We are hoping to give the kids the gift at Christmas this year. When can we expect the magic bands or do I purchase them separately?

    A Walt Disney World vacation Christmas surprise is always a treat! I know your kids will be so excited!

    If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, each person on your reservation will receive a complimentary Magic Band. Magic Bands are typically shipped to your home about 30 days before your check-in date and can take up to 11 days for you to have them in your hands. If you are staying off-property, you can purchase Magic Bands for your family on the Disney Store website or the Shop Disney mobile app. You will receive the purchased Magic Bands before Christmas. 

    If you choose, you can decline the complimentary Magic Bands that come with your reservation, purchase Magic Bands and have them all wrapped and ready for your Christmas surprise. Declining those Magic Bands can be done by signing into your My Disney Experience account online. 

    You can also keep the complimentary Magic Bands and purchase another surprise on the Disney Store website or the Disney Floral and Gifts website and have that shipped to your home in time for Christmas.
