Just booked trip for Feb 15-22, 2011 for my 8yr old DD and myself. We arrive 1030 am on 15th and leave 7pm on 22nd. Have Park Hopper and base dining pckage (1 sn, 1quick, 1table). Would love help planning what parks what days and possible restaurants. Thnx

Hi, Heather! It sounds like you've got the workings of a great plan there. Let's see if I can help point you in the right direction for the details!

For the eight days you have planned, I would count out the travel days and plan on something fun like Chip n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at Fort Wilderness or a nice meal at your resort or one nearby. Also, we like to open or close a trip to Walt Disney World (WDW) at Downtown Disney or The Boardwalk. It makes us feel like we've done something without having a park ticket.

For the remaining six days, take a look at the four theme parks' calendars for the week you're at WDW. You can access the calendars from the home page by clicking on the park of your choice and clicking on Calendars from the list on the left. You'll need to take into consideration your favorite parks, their opening/closing times, entertainment schedules and Extra Magic Hours. Once you've made a tentative schedule based on that information, you're ready to call 407-WDW-DINE to make some Advanced Dining Reservations.

As far as dining suggestions, we like to plan on one table-service meal per day which may include our favorite character meal such as Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary or an adventurous epicurean journey such as Sanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge-Kidani Village. We also like fun experiences such as the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios, and we always make it a point to dine at one of the countries of World Showcase at Epcot. Hopefully, this will help to spark your enthusiasm and whet your appetite.

Since there are so many factors to consider such as where you're staying, park hours and which parks are your favorite, I hope you understand that I couldn't provide you with an specific itinerary. Your WDW vacation plan can be likened to a tailored suit...you have to try it on yourself in order to know what best "suits" you! Yet, come back if you have more questions. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
