I booked a trip to disney world for Nov. My kids are 5 and 2. We will be flying and staying in one of the value hotels in a preferred room. Any advice on how to make this vacation as stress free as possible. Thanks!!

    Hi Evelyn!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!

I have traveled with my two children and every age, and have accumulated a few helpful tips along the way to keep us (mostly) free from meltdowns and stress.  I hope you will find these helpful!

    *  Stick to your normal daily routine/schedule as much as possible, including meal, nap, and bedtimes.  Head back to your Resort during the day for a naptime.  This is one of the many benefits of staying on Disney Property!

    *  Pack a satchel of essentials to have with you each day.  For children the ages of yours, some of our essentials included wet wipes, antibacterial gel, juice boxes, extra undies/diapers, snacks, some children's medications (such as ibuprofen, allergy medications, etc...), bandaids, sunscreen, etc...

    *  Label your belongings clearly, including your kids!  We've been known to put labels on our bags and cameras, strollers, and even on our kids, inside their clothing, on armbands, etc...

    *  Keep your Park Ticket receipt in a safe location, probably back at your room, in case you lose your ticket, so they can replace it if lost.  We also take pictures of our receipts and room keys with our smart phones, so we will have this information available if needed.

    *  Take a picture of your children each morning, in the clothes they are wearing for the day.  This is something I hate to even mention, but is important to do, just in case.

Most of all, just relax, and realize that you won't be able to do EVERYTHING - but just enjoy everything you DO get to do!  Have a magical time on your vacation!
