Hi there! We have just booked a trip to Disney and are staying at the Beach Club Villas. I've read some comments that the elevators can be very slow there, so wondering if its better to stay on the first or second floor to avoid elevator use?

Hey there, hi there, Eileen! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.

With a stay at Disney's Beach Club Villas, your planning is off to a practically perfect start! With the relaxing coastal vibes, beautifully renovated Deluxe Studios and Villas, and location right in EPCOT's backyard, this Resort is the most magical home away from home. I'm thrilled to share my thoughts on room locations so you can have the stay of your dreams!

The last time my family and I stayed at Beach Club Villas, I didn't notice that the elevators were particularly slow. In fact, I really liked the fact that there were two sets of elevators in different locations at the Resort. However, I will say that unless we have luggage with us, my family and I typically end up using the stairs at all of the Resorts to avoid waiting for an elevator. So, if you and your travel party are like my family and are always too excited to get to the park to wait for an elevator, making a room request for the first or second floor might just be your best bet.

I will say that I used to be someone who always requested a high floor at the Disney Resorts. However, we were assigned a room on the first floor of Beach Club Villas, and my mind was forever changed. Now, unless I'm looking for a particular room view (and at Beach Club Villas, they are all very similar), I request the first floor. It was just so easy to pop in and out of the room to head to and from the pool, EPCOT, dining, and more. Plus, we really loved having a patio instead of a balcony!

Whatever floor and room request you choose, you really can't go wrong and are sure to love your room and the Resort. If you booked your room on your Disney Vacation Club Points, submit your room request by calling Member Services or using the Chat feature on the DVC website. If you booked your room on cash, make your request by calling a Cast Member with Tickets and Hotel Reservations or using the Chat feature on the Walt Disney World website. Just keep in mind that while the Cast Members will do everything they can to make your wishes come true, requests are based on availability and aren't guaranteed.

I hope this helps, Eileen! If you have any more questions about Beach Club Villas or anything at all, just swing by and ask me! You've got a friend in me.

    Life is the bubbles,
