Hello Whitney, and welcome to planDisney.
It sounds like you have a practically perfect vacation planned for this fall! My home away from home is Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I was there a few weeks ago and spent some time enjoying the lobby before construction was set to begin. I'll be returning in June and had the same questions you do, so while I was there, I chatted with a lovely Cast Member who confirmed that, as of now, there are no scheduled construction projects that will affect any of the dining or merchandise locations. I also inquired about the Cinderella's Glass Slipper photo opportunity on the second floor, and she informed me that there should be no disruptions to that either.
I reached out to another Cast Member this morning just to make sure that plans had not changed from a few weeks ago, and she also confirmed this information. I suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date announcements on this project.
I can hear Mary Poppins in my head right now singing about a "spoonful of sugar." We can enjoy our beautiful rooms, relaxing pools, brunch at the
Grand Floridian Cafe, and sitting at an outdoor table at
Gasparilla Island Grill while looking at Cinderella Castle and enjoying a meal. The Grand Floridian will always be magical!
I also want to make sure you know about the fantastic
water park benefit you'll have as a Resort hotel Guest. On check-in day, you will autoMAGICALLY be given complimentary admission to either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach water park. What a pixie-dusted way to start your Disney vacation!
Whitney, enjoy your enchanting fall vacation full of holiday cheer. If you have any other questions as you plan your vacation, please don't hesitate to visit us here at planDisney anytime. We are Guests just like you who love helping you find your magical moments!
Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious vacation!
