Hi Moms! We booked a trip to Disney in June to celebrate my graduation from medical school and my Mom beating breast cancer! We are all adults and are looking for a special way to celebrate both accomplishments. Any ideas?

    Hi Megan,

What an absolutely wonderful celebration for you and your mom! There are so many ways that you could celebrate these special occasions.

First, be sure to stop at Guest Relations at any Disney theme park and pick up an "I'm celebrating" button. They are free of charge, and it is really fun to hear cast members and guests alike congratulate you as you walk through the parks. My husband and I took an adults-only trip when I completed my Ph.D. I wore a button that said "I'm celebrating...my Ph.D." My husband wore one that that said "I'm celebrating...Mona Leigh's Ph.D." They were great conversation starters. You and your mother could each wear two celebration buttons - one to commemorate your celebration and one for the other's!

If I was going to choose an amazing celebration meal, it would be at Victoria & Albert's. This restaurant is wonderful, and truly a only-a-few-times-in-a lifetime experience. It sounds like you and your mother are celebrating enough to warrant a dinner here. It is expensive, but it is fantastic. You could also chose any Disney Signature Restaurant for a special meal.

If you would like to get a special gift for you mother, contact the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts. They can make amazing customized gifts to be delivered to guests. Once you have perused the website, give them a call at (407) WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438) to speak with a Dream Maker to customize a gift for you mother.

No matter what you do, Megan, it sounds like you are going to have a wonderful trip. I would love to help you plan more; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
