I have booked my trip and bought my tickets. I would like to use my old Magicbands on my next trip. I lookked at my MyDisneyExperiance App and someone in my party is not listed as having MagicBands. How do I link the old bands and this person?

Hey Howdy Hey Jessica and welcome back to planDisney!

Alright Jessica, looks like we are less than 50 days until your big trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth! I bet you all are getting super excited for the big day. MagicBands continue to be my preferred method of navigating the parks. I love the process of trying to pick the "right" one out to suit my Disney personality for the trip and nothing says "Vacation Mode" like putting on your MagicBand! Since Disney implemented Disney MagicMobile Service, our family of 5 has started to reuse MagicBands from prior trips and this scenario happened to us. So I would be happy to share the options we went through that will hopefully work for you.

The first thing you can try to do is to re-link the MagicBand to your party member. You can do this by going to your My Disney Experience account and going under "My MagicBands and Cards". Scroll to the bottom and click on "Link" and follow the prompts to try and link your MagicBand to the right party member. The confirmation ID should be on the backside of your MagicBand.

If this does not work, check to see if the MagicBand is linked to another party member as you can have more than one. Click on each party member and see if you see the MagicBand linked to them. If so, you can call Disney at (407) 939-4357 and a Cast Member can help you through this process to get them straightened out.

The final option is on the day of your arrival at Walt Disney World. If you stop by the front desk, the Cast Members there can link the MagicBands to the appropriate party member and ensure they are working properly.

One other thing to be aware of when reusing MagicBands is their lifespan. I have had Cast Members tell me the battery lasts around two years and is not able to be replaced. So if your MagicBands are around that old, I would also recommend stopping at the front desk at check-in on the day of your arrival to make sure the Cast Members can check to see if they are still working.

Hopefully, these steps were helpful and you can get your MagicBands straightened out for your trip! Have fun over the next few weeks to finalize your plans and if you have any further questions let us know, we are happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
