Hi there, James! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I took a look at the
Walt Disney World Theme Park hours for the week of your vacation and they actually look pretty standard to what the park hours have been since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer. What I think you are noticing right now is extended hours due to the spring break holiday that is taking place over the next few weeks. Park hours do oftentimes fluctuate depending on the time of year and how busy the parks are anticipated to be. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the park hours are adjusted a little bit before your trip at the end of May. I always like to check back a few weeks out to see if anything has shifted when I plan my Walt Disney World vacation so I can adjust my plans and then again each night before going to bed while I am there- just in case.
If the parks do close during the early evening hours while you are on vacation at Walt Disney World, there are still plenty of things for you to do. Typically, the main pool at all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are open until at least 10:00 p.m. My daughter has always loved a night swim after a long day walking around the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and I have to say I do too. It's a great way to rejuvenate those feet and legs after so much walking. Also, each of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels show a movie under stars each evening. You will be able to find a list of what movie is shown on which night and the time at your resort's main lobby. The movies are set up really well and are a fun way to spend an evening. My husband and I also really enjoy walking around in the evenings at
Disney Springs. In fact, most nights you'll be able to find us there enjoying a great meal and listening to live music. Our favorite place to hang out is the
Waterview Park. There are plenty of benches and chairs set up, physically distanced, to be able to enjoy the entertainment. There's also plenty of shopping and fun things for the kids at Disney Springs. I think you might enjoy spending a few evenings there if the parks do end up closing early during your trip.
If you are looking for a dining recommendation at Disney Springs, my current favorite is
The BOATHOUSE. The restaurant is nestled right on the water, actually, right beside the Waterview Park I mentioned above, and offers beautiful sunset views. The menu really does have something for everyone. My go-to order is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. They are the best around!
James, I hope the park hours during your trip get extended so you can enjoy the Walt Disney World Theme Parks even longer. If not, I know you'll be able to find something to do to fill your evenings with magic. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
Have fun!
