Hey Howdy Hey Dawn and welcome to planDisney!
Taking advantage of extra time in the parks is one huge perk to Guests staying onsite at a
Disney Resort Collection hotel or one of many other Great Accommodations. Being able to experience the parks with lower crowd numbers is a great way to get your "must-do" list taken care of or just a great time to experience your favorite attractions again with lower wait times! I personally love the experience of the parks at night. The extra energy they have, the way they are lit up and just knowing I should be in bed but instead running through the parks is amazing! There are some specifics to keep in mind when you are planning on taking advantage of the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, so let's review.
In order to qualify for the
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours perk, you need to be staying at an approved resort. I am happy to share that YES, Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resorts are on the list of the approved resorts! Now as long as you have this reservation linked to your My Disney Experience account, you are on your way to taking advantage of this experience. The next to consider is the method of entry.
You have a
few options when it comes to entry into the parks and the more common ones are
MagicBands and
Disney MagicMobile Service. As long as you have either one you will be set. As the park closes at its scheduled time, the attractions will still be open but a Cast Member will be at the queue entrance scanning your MagicBand or smart device for MagicMobile. These will verify you are staying at a qualifying resort and then you are free to ride!
One big tip as you are planning your evening in the parks for the extra hours is to consider your food and drink options. There are still a few places to grab snacks and drinks but a lot of the bigger table service locations will be closed. So make sure you eat a later meal or get ready to stock up on snacks for your extra time in the parks. Disney also has a
list of the attractions you will be able to experience online which also might be a good idea to check into before your visit.
Best of luck with your continued planning for your Magical vacation in a few short weeks! If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out, we would be happy to help.
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
