We booked a stay at the Grand Californian for Christmas and bought 2 day Park Hopper tickets. We waited until the date the website said we could make our theme park reservations and when we opened the calendar, 12/20 and beyond was full! Any suggestions?

    Hello Brittany!

A very warm welcome to planDisney! Thanks for your great question!

I am so happy to hear that you are planning to stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! It’s one of my go-to places for a magical stay at the Disneyland Resort. I always have a great time and I think you’ll love staying there as well. Don’t forget to use the Grand Gate to enter Disney California Adventure Park directly from the hotel.

I always recommend linking your hotel reservations to your Disneyland Account. Let me walk you through the steps. First, log in to your Disneyland Account on the website and click My Disneyland then select My Hotel Reservations. From there you’ll be able to input your confirmation number, the last name on the reservation and your arrival date. Once the reservation is linked to your Disneyland account, it should show in the Disneyland Mobile App as well.

Once you’ve linked your reservation, you’ll see a blue “Make Theme Park Reservations” button. This button will take you to the Resort Hotel Guest Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar. This calendar has different availability than the Disneyland Resort Magic Key Access Calendar or the single-day and multi-day tickets. You may find that your desired dates are available on one calendar and not another.

Also, be sure to complete online check-in up to five days prior to arrival. If you complete online check-in, you can use your digital key to bypass the Front Desk and go straight to your room! Once your room is assigned and ready, you can access your room and locate your hotel room number within the digital key feature on the Disneyland Mobile App. Then all you have to do is tap the “Unlock Door” button and hold your Bluetooth-enabled device against the door lock. Just make sure you have the latest version of the Disneyland Mobile App to use this feature.

I hope this helps! Enjoy a magical stay!
