Hiya Kelly! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm excited you are planning a visit to
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! My family has always dreamed about experiencing Walt Disney World in this fashion but have yet to try it out for ourselves. I hope you have already started planning a magical Disney vacation!
When you booked your resort reservation, you should have had the option to bundle together your park tickets. Doing so creates a vacation package that becomes easier to modify or cancel. When purchasing your park tickets separately, they will be nonrefundable at the time of purchase. If your plans change and you are unable to go, you won't receive any money back that you spent on your tickets. If you wish to add them as part of your package now, you can do so by
calling the Walt Disney World Resort and speaking to a Cast Member for assistance.
You can certainly wait to
purchase your tickets at any point leading up to your stay but waiting until January 9th will not make any difference. Date-based tickets from this date forward will not require theme park reservations to visit the parks each day. This is true regardless of when the tickets are purchased. Whether you buy them today or a few days before your visit, you will not need to make reservations for the parks.
Kelly, I hope you get the chance to check out
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long which takes place nightly at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. You'll get the chance to roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and jam out with two of the best Disney characters.
Have a magical time during your stay!
