Welcome to planDisney, Norman!
I love seeing that you have a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort coming up later THIS WEEK! My family has visited every spring break we could for the past several years, and we are missing the magic right now. Have an extra Mickey-shaped treat for me, please!
I don’t love hearing that you’re having trouble finding a
Disney Park Pass reservation. As part of the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, the theme parks are at a reduced capacity, and because many families are visiting during the “spring break season,” capacity was reached quickly. All Guests must purchase tickets in advance and make Disney Park Pass reservations for each day of their visit. I have a few suggestions that I hope are helpful as you consider next steps.
First, keep checking the
Disney Park Pass availability calendar online. Be sure to select “Disney Resort Guests” to filter the calendar. One of the
benefits of staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel is having access to some theme park availability that is set aside for Disney Guests, but those spots do fill up. As people change plans, they cancel reservations, so it’s possible more spots will become available, but there are no guarantees.
If you’d like to postpone your visit, please
call a friendly Cast Member on the Reservations team at (407) 939-1936. Let them know you’re having trouble getting Disney Park Pass reservations and ask them to check the system one more time before you reschedule, just in case. I know this is likely not the option you want, and I understand that – my family cancelled two trips last year, and it was not magical
at all to have to do that.
And finally, if you’re still looking for some fun and sun, let me assure you that if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’re going to have a fantastic time. Whether you’re splashing in your resort hotel pool (pro tip: visit those in the mornings, as afternoons have been busy at the pools and sometimes the pools do reach capacity too), dining on delicious food and drink, or visiting
Disney Springs, you’ll still have a fantastic vacation.
Norman, I’m sending pixie dust that when you keep checking that availability calendar, some theme park availability does pop up for you!
