I have booked to stay at Caribbean Beech. I have heard the resort is quite spread out. As there is just the two of us I opted for a King Room. Is this room classed as a 'Preferred' room if not where is best to try and request to be located on site?

Hello Robert and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My own family just loves staying in the islands at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and I'm sure that you're going to enjoy it every bit as much as we do!
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort consists of 6 island villages which are dotted around the tranquil 45 acre Barefoot Bay lake; so you are quite right when you describe it as somewhat spread out.
In my own personal experience I can recommend selecting a Preferred Room perhaps within the Trinidad North Village which is conveniently located close-by Old Port Royale Centre Town which benefits from the main Resort pool, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Old Port Royale Food Court, merchandise store and many other fun Recreation Amenities
To secure your Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Room preferences I recommend speaking with a Cast Member who will be glad to help by dialling the freephone number for Disney Resort Hotel Reservations contained within this Walt Disney World Resort Phone Directory.
    Have a great Disney day.
