Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Patricia. I am just so excited to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. And with a
little one in tow! You are sure to make many magical memories.
Your little guy will love
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. My sons were just 1 and 3-years old when we first stayed at this unique Disney Resort hotel, and they couldn't get enough of the larger-than-life character statues throughout the resort! It didn't matter how many times we had already walked past Pongo and Perdita, they'd squeal and point with excitement as if it was the first time. It was so cute!
I totally understand wanting to be closer to the pool or the bus stop. Those were certainly my priorities when we stayed at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort! I'm happy to tell you that there are a few ways you can make those requests. Guests can typically make up to two room requests when completing the Online Check-In process. You can do this
online or through the
My Disney Experience mobile app! Click "Start Check-In" next to your resort reservation information. You'll then have the opportunity to enter information like a payment method and pin for purchases charged toward your Disney Resort hotel account, your planned arrival time, and your phone number for messages during your vacation. You should also see a section for room requests. If you don't have any requests on file yet, you'll need to click on the little blue "Edit" button. Once you do, two drop-down boxes will appear to make room requests. After you've selected at least one request option, a box will appear below the requests. In checking that box, you can request your room being ready for an early arrival to be a priority over the other requests. If you don't see "Near Pool" or "Near Bus Stop" as available options from the drop-down boxes, not to fret! Simply call (407) 560-CHAT or (407) 560-2428 at least 72-hours prior to your arrival and a friendly Cast Member will add those requests to your reservation. While not all requests can be honored, I know the folks at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort will do their best to make sure you have a magical stay!
When my family stayed at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, I requested that we be near the bus stop thinking it would make our many trips to and from the theme parks as convenient as possible. That request couldn't be honored, but it ended up being a good thing! We were in The Mighty Ducks section which, away from the main pool and Cinema Hall, proved to be nice and quiet; exactly what we needed for two little ones who napped every afternoon. And honestly, the walk to and from the bus stop several times a day was just fine. After all, the boys had all those Disney characters to pass by on the way!
As a mom of three, I always request a room on the ground floor. A
stroller is an absolute must-have for my family's Disney vacations, and a room on the ground floor makes coming and going with a stroller much easier. My little one often falls asleep on the way back to our room after an adventure-filled day in the theme parks. We just wheel her in the room and gently transfer her into bed for a night of pixie-dusted dreams!
