Hello Debra! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am sorry for your loss. When my mother passed 14 years ago, I discovered a newfound love of Walt Disney World Resort that my Mother always possessed and was reminded of some of our happiest times together. It ultimately led me to becoming a Disney Parks Moms Panelist and every question I answer through the Panel makes me feel close to her again.
I traveled solo to Walt Disney World Resort for the first time last September and spent a whole day retracing my steps, visiting all of the attractions, shows and experiences that I remembered doing with my Mother when I was a kid. It was emotional, but predominantly joyful.
I recommend that you take the time to plan out your days during your visit and set goals for each day.
Booking a tour like
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom or
World Showcase: DestiNations Discovered at Epcot is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the Theme Parks and learning about a different side of the Walt Disney World Resort you love in a group setting with individuals that share your interests.
Book
Advanced Dining Reservations at locations that are best suited for people-watching like outdoor Dining Locations around World Showcase in Epcot and talk up your server. The International Cast Members at World Showcase are some of the friendliest and accommodating I've ever met.
Finally, traveling solo is all about taking your time and savoring all of the little details that make Walt Disney World Resort so much more than a location.
Best of Luck!
~Todd
