We booked a site at Fort Wilderness Campground way back in December/2009 for our upcoming August/2010 vacation. Is there any way I can find out my site #. There are some loops/areas I would like to request and am not sure how to do that.

    Gillian:

I totally understand how you feel about requesting a specific loop. It is probably one of the things that gives me the most angst in anticipation of our arrival at the fort!

Generally speaking, you will be assigned your site number anywhere from 5 to 10 days out from check-in. You may put a request in for a specific loop, and I would recommend doing this ASAP as it is my understanding that requests are put in order of reservation date and when the request is made.

To make the request, all you need to do is call Disney at 407-824-3421 and have them make a note on your reservation. About 10 days out from arrival, I recommend calling Fort Wilderness at 407-824-2900 to confirm your request. You may even want to ask them for their fax number and fax your request in also to confirm.

Keep in mind that Disney tries to grant as many requests as they can, but they can't guarantee them. (Last year, a group of campers with a Grand Gathering filled up the entire loop we requested! But the one we were assigned to was just as fine.)  If all else fails and you arrive to find that you've been assigned a loop you didn't request, don't panic. Check out the site first before unloading. If it's not what you need, you can go back to the front desk and see if they can accommodate a move. Our family has done this when our slide-out was too near a tree. The cast members at the front desk couldn't have been nicer.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
