I booked single day tickets to Magic Kingdom not realizing it’s the same day as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. What can I do? I’m new to all of this.

    Hi Shelby!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney!  Your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is approaching quickly, so let me channel my inner Lightning McQueen to help you find your answer faster than fast and quicker than quick. . .Ka-Chow!  Even though your trip is less than a week away, you have a few options to help you plan a day that is practically perfect in every way.

Shelby, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special-ticketed event held on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park.  On party nights, Magic Kingdom closes to daytime Guests at 6:00 PM so the happy haunts can prepare for a SPOOK-tacular evening.  If you visit Magic Kingdom on a day it closes early for a party, you can still enjoy many hours of fun, but won't have the opportunity to catch nighttime entertainment like Happily Ever After or Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.  If rides and attractions are a priority over entertainment, you could choose to keep your daytime ticket and then spend the evening enjoying a fabulous dinner at a nearby resort or Disney Springs.

However, if you want to spend a "rope drop to fireworks" day at Magic Kingdom, you may be able to change your ticket date.  While tickets are nonrefundable, you can typically modify your theme park ticket after purchase (some exceptions may apply).  The easiest way to do this is to find your linked ticket in your My Disney Experience account and review available options.  You can also view any pricing differences between the two dates before confirming your change.

You could also consider upgrading your ticket to include the Park Hopper Option.  This would allow you to start your day at Magic Kingdom and then head to another park (or two. . .or three) later as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins.  If you're thinking about park hopping, you can take the monorail to EPCOT or catch a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

I hope this has been helpful, Shelby, as you decide how you want to spend your day at Walt Disney World.  If you need additional assistance for your specific ticket or don't see options to change or modify online, you can always reach out to a Cast Member at Tickets and Hotel Reservations.  And you've got a friend in me here at planDisney, so please stop by again if you have any other questions!

    To Infinity and Beyond!
