Booked a room for 3 nights with DVC point but don't have enough for 3 more nights. Do I have to switch rooms?

Hi there Becky, and a hearty "Welcome Home" to the Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney! It's always great to meet another Member and I'm here to help with an answer for your question.

Your situation sounds very familiar as our family loves to maximize our Disney Vacation Points and we tend to use our year's allotment up to the very last Point!  My first suggestion is that you check your dashboard on the DVC member site. Since your vacation is not beginning until December, you may be able to borrow Vacation Points from your next use year to book those additional nights that you're hoping to secure.

From your Member Dashboard, click the "Manage Vacation Points" option, which takes you to a helpful screen showing how many Points from each year are available for banking or borrowing. You can complete these transactions via the website, or by contacting Member Services. A friendly reminder--once you borrow Vacation Points, they must be used in the use year that you have borrowed them into.

If it turns out that you don't have Points available, it's a breeze to move to another Disney resort--which gives you a "whole new world" of accommodations to explore! Disney will transfer your luggage to your new hotel so you can keep enjoying your vacation. Simply bring your luggage to Bell Services and let them know which hotel it should go to, then go about your Disney day! Your bags will magically appear at the new hotel, typically by 6:00pm. Hang on to your luggage ticket so you can claim your bags at Bell Services in the new resort.

Becky, I hope this helps with your vacation planning and that you're getting excited about your trip. It will be here before we know it!  Don't hesitate to reach back out to us at planDisney with any other questions.

    See Ya Real Soon!
