    Just booked our resort. We will be staying at CBR this time. My concern is the size of the resort and I believe I paid for a preferred room. Are these rooms closer to the main resort itself and can I also call ahead about a week before to secure a room.

    The Caribbean Beach Resort is a beautiful, tropical escape. Booking a preferred room will get you closer to Centertown where the main pool and food court are located.

    Call your travel agent or 407-W-DISNEY and inquire if your reservation is for a standard or preferred room.

    Personally, I like the standard rooms in the Jamaica village for quiet and privacy. I love the beautiful walks over Caribbean Cay to Centertown.

    I recently toured the Martinique and Trinidad North areas. Some of the Martinique buildings are very close to Centertown.

    Trinidad North is a fairly long walk around the pool area (it is possible to walk through it) but doesn't offer the nice views that are seen when walking across Caribbean Cay or from Martinique past the marina.
     
    While walking to Trinidad North, I saw some unsightly backstage areas (garbage containers, etc.) that take away from the beauty of the resort. I took this walk at night time as well, and even then, I was disappointed with the views.

    The resort road is close to the buildings on this side of the resort and offers less peaceful surroundings than the villages across the water.

    Just look at a map and you'll see that the parking lots are narrow here. I have never noticed road noise over by Jamaica. I think the deep parking areas buffer the internal road noise.

    To save money, I recommend booking a room in Jamaica or Aruba. Ask for buildings 44 or 45 in Jamaica or 51 or 52 in Aruba.

    For a preferred location, have it noted on your reservation that you are requesting a room in Martinique. Building 25 would be ideal.

    You can call now to have any special requests noted on your reservation. Just remember that these requests are not guaranteed. If you pay for a preferred room, you'll get a preferred building location but not necessarily in the exact building that you request.
