I booked a resort stay for my family of 9. They are just getting their My Disney Experience set up. As I tried to link and merge one of my guests they now show up twice. Once as “plans managed by me” and then again when I scroll down. How can I merge?

Welcome back to planDisney Michelle! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. It sounds like you have an exciting Walt Disney World Resort vacation in the works for your entire crew, how magical! With a family of nine, there’s sure to be plenty of laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories ahead. Let’s take a look at how to get everything linked and running smoothly in your My Disney Experience account.

This situation happens fairly often when someone first creates their own My Disney Experience account after previously being listed as a guest managed by another person.

What you're seeing is the same person appearing twice: once as a profile you created and manage, and once as their new, independent account. To resolve this, you'll want to connect the managed profile to their actual account so everything merges cleanly.

Go to your Family & Friends list in the My Disney Experience app and find the version of the person that says "plans managed by me." Click on "Update" next to their name and choose the option to share planning with them. You'll enter the email address they used to create their My Disney Experience account, and the system will send them an invitation. Once they accept the invite, the profiles should automatically merge, and you'll no longer see two versions.

If that doesn't work or things still look off, it's best to call Disney's app support line for My Disney Experience. A Cast Member can merge the accounts for you manually, ensuring that no plans or reservations are lost in the process.

Avoid deleting the managed profile before you've successfully reassigned any plans or tickets, especially if there are reservations tied to that version of the guest. Once everything is properly linked, they'll be able to manage their own plans through their account.

Michelle, I hope this helps you get everything linked smoothly so you can focus on the fun and magic that awaits your family at Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks for visiting planDisney, and may your trip be filled with unforgettable moments and plenty of pixie dust!
