Abbie from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I booked a reservation for January 5 dinner at Blue Bayou. Is the Monte Cristo sandwich only available at lunch? I’m considering canceling if so.

Hi Abbie! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park is a popular dining location with an immersive experience of dining in perpetual twilight in the bayou. It can be tricky to secure a reservation for this iconic spot! But the Monte Cristo currently only appears on the Lunch menu, which sounds like a potential dealbreaker for you. It's a favorite of mine as well, so I understand the foodie disappointment.

Menus are subject to change, so the best way to check on the current offerings is to download the Disneyland mobile app, pull up the search function at the bottom, and type in the restaurant name where you'd like to dine. By selecting "View Menu," you'll see the latest menus for the dining location by tabbing between "Breakfast," "Lunch," and "Dinner," or whatever time of the day they're open.

If you're wishing on a star for a Monte Cristo, there are other options you can currently find nearby! Cafe Orleans is another dining location in New Orleans Square, where you can get your hands on a delicious Battered & Fried Monte Cristo Sandwich. This menu item is available at both Lunch and Dinner. It's recommended that you have a dining reservation for Cafe Orleans, but they also have the option to "Join Walk-Up List," which you can find on the app to the left of the "View Menu" option. That's a good option to try if you're not able to secure a last-minute reservation. There's also a new menu item in New Orleans Square, which might tempt you: Royal Street Veranda, which is a Quick Service location, currently features the Waffle Cristo. It's a Monte Cristo on a waffle, instead of the usual bread. I'm hearing good things, and it's available at Breakfast, which means you could potentially enjoy a Monte Cristo more than once a day if that's what your heart desires.

    I hope this helps!
