Hello, Rhiella, and welcome to planDisney.
I would like to first begin by wishing you a very happy birthday! Celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World is my favorite thing to do. I call it “treat yourself”. And any purchases, upgrades, and other fun add-ons that happen during that time are a must because it's my birthday. Which is slightly funny because the day before my birthday is my husband’s birthday, and we have two very different ways of going about it. He’s just happy with being there while I'm looking for ways to justify splurging.
You’ve made an excellent selection with dining at California Grill. The menu is great and includes
so many gluten-friendly options. There’s even a gluten-friendly dessert you can save room to enjoy! Unfortunately, the
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake contains gluten, wheat, soy, milk, and eggs. These cakes are also produced in facilities that may also include other allergens such as peanuts and tree nuts, so it will not be allergy-friendly for your dinner.
I recommend giving the dining reservations line
a call to modify your current reservation and remove the cake from your reservation. The good news is Walt Disney World does an incredible
job of providing alternative options, so a different sweet treat isn’t too far away. A Dole Whip is our family go-to with my son’s daily allergy. So that's on the top of my personal recommendations list. If you are looking for more of a traditional birthday dessert. I recommend stopping by
Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC located in Disney Springs.
There, you can find a variety of tasty vegan and gluten-free treats! You can even bring one along with you to enjoy after dinner. What my family usually does is we purchase a dessert and leave it in our resort room to enjoy after a long day in the parks. A sweet treat before bed is one of our favorite pastimes.
Rhiella, I hope this helps guide you towards the perfect birthday treat! If there’s anything else we can help you find, please ask away. We are always here to help make your planning and trip as easy and fun as it can be.
Birthday wishes,
Shantel
