Hi! We just booked put first Disney cruise on the wish for October of 2024. It is booked under my maiden name. I am married and took my husband's last name so my government issued ID has a different last name. Do I need to bring my marriage certificate

    Ahoy, Ashley!

Wishes really DO come true – you have so much magic to celebrate with your first Disney Cruise Line vacation on the horizon! This is an excellent, important question regarding your travel documentation and I’m happy to help you understand what’s best for your special trip next year.

I spoke with a helpful Disney Cruise Line crew member and confirmed that your name on the reservation must match your travel documentation. Your last name is not a field that you can edit yourself on the reservation online, but you can call Disney Cruise Line and they will be happy to make this change for you. Please also be sure that you are familiar with the exact travel documentation requirements for your Bahamian itinerary on the gorgeous Disney Wish.

If this vacation was booked in your maiden name because you have an existing Disney account that has not yet been updated, you can update your last name yourself through the instructions shared here. You have one login credential for all Disney-related platforms, including Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World Resort, and even Disney+. Please know you’ll still have to call Disney Cruise Line to have your current reservation name changed, even if you take these steps to edit your Disney account. Making the update to your last name in both places will ensure smooth sailing for your vacation planning moving forward.

You’re going to have an incredible time on the Disney Wish! There’s so much already included in your Disney Cruise Line vacation, plus the opportunity to explore the beautiful ports of call of Nassau and Disney Castaway Cay. Check out our handy planDisney resources to help you feel ready and be in ship-shape for this amazing adventure:

Please let us know what other questions you have as you plan your magical voyage at sea in the next year, Ashley! Our cruise crew has sailed on all ships and journeyed around the world, so we’d love to share our tips and advice to help you make the most of this magical time.

    Happy planning!
