I have booked 1n at Port Orleans, then switch to Coronado Springs free dining pkg. The day we switch, we booked Chef Mickey, then MVMCP. I am wondering if we can use free dining before physically going to CS? We don't get magic bands in the mail.

    Hi Amber,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

The fact that you don’t get MagicBands in the mail (as a fellow Canadian - I totally understand how disappointing that can be) isn’t the problem with using your Disney Dining Plan entitlements before physically checking in for your stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. While, technically, if you use the Online Check-In service, you should be able to use your dining entitlements right away, I’ve experienced several instances where things don’t work as smoothly in practice, especially during a “split stay”.

If you want to make absolutely sure everything works properly, I would recommend heading over to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at some point before your dining reservation at Chef Mickey’s in order to make sure that everything is in order for your upcoming stay (only one person in your party needs to do so).

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
