    I have booked the POR in March 2013 for my family of 4, which includes 2 boys, ages 3 and 6. I am now considering the new AOA resort. Based on price, we would have to stay in a standard room which is in the Mermaid section. Which do you think would best?

    This is a big decision!  The Art of Animation is getting great reviews from guests, that is for sure.  However, Port Orleans Riverside is a beautiful resort to stay at.  Let me give you information on both resorts:

    Riverside is huge with multiple pools, nice food court, table service restaurant, catch and release fishing, and more!  This location is a vacation destination all by itself.  Your boys will love the playground and huge main pool area.  This is a Moderate Resort so room will be a bit bigger.   I really enjoy the super fun boat ride to Downtown Disney, a definite "plus" for this resort.

    Art of Animation is brand new.  The pool area is amazing, and the food court is huge.  The themes throughout the resort are fun, and everything is shiny and new.

    Both resorts are huge, so be ready to walk. Both offer family fun and a lot of activities. 

    So what do you choose?  Personally, I would stick with Port Orleans Riverside. The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms are nice, but if you can upgrade to a Moderate Resort for the same price, that would be a better option.  I think your young boys will enjoy the grounds of Port Orleans with its rustic decor in Alligator Bayou and the fun walking paths.

    It is a big decision, but you cannot make a wrong choice. Both resorts are fantastic and will give your family that magical vacation you are looking for.  Good luck!
