Hi there, Sophie! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to hear about your upcoming trip in August. I can only imagine how much fun you're going to have with all the delicious food you'll try, the amazing rides you'll experience, and all the memories you'll create with your family and friends.
I also know that you're in for a treat with an amazing room with a pool view. Although I'm not sure which
Disney Resorts Collection hotel you're staying at, I'm happy to tell you that preferred rooms are closer to the main lobby, shopping, transportation options, and food courts/restaurants located inside the main lobby. For instance, at
Disney's Pop Century Resort, a preferred room will get you close to Classic Hall, their main lobby and reception, and the Hippy Dippy Pool.
I know that you might be wondering about your specific building or room number, but don't worry! Those are usually assigned on the day of your check-in. However, a great tip is to go to your Resort page on Disney's website and click on "Room Rates". You will see a brief description of the location right below the preferred room option, which can help you plan in advance.
As someone who loves to travel with my two little Mouseketeers, I find preferred rooms super convenient. They mean less time traveling at the end of a park day going back to our rooms, as they're way closer to the transportation hub. I can quickly go back to my room if I forgot sunscreen on my way to the pool, and I can also do a speed-run to the main lobby to grab a snack or a pizza if I'm feeling hungry. Trust me, it makes all the difference.
Sophie, I hope this information helps you plan your perfect Disney getaway. Please
feel free to reach out to us anytime with any other questions you might have. We're always here to help our friends like you.
Cheers
Nilson
